Bill Old Town
Meet Our Founder & CEO

Bill Old Town has been in the industry since graduating from Louisiana Tech University in 1960. Old Town Electric was a modest opening in 1972 with a $20,000 investment. The company has since grown to the 8th largest distributor in the US with 194 stores and more than $2.12 billion in sales. Bill has served as Chair of the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED) from 2005 to 2006, Chair of the NAED Education & Research Foundation, Chair of The IMARK Group marketing cooperative, and recipient of NAED’s highest honor, the Arthur W. Hooper Award. Bill has devoted his life to electrical distribution and has established Old Town Electric as one of the most renowned and fastest-growing companies in the industry.

Old Town Electric believes in loyalty to suppliers, honesty and transparency in business, and dedication to customers and employees. The company is presently owned by a trust for the benefit of the employees and managed by a board of directors with a combined 200 years of experience in the industry.

Stephen Paul
Meet our President

Stephen Paul brings over 25 years of experience in the electrical industry, having joined Old Town Electric in 2023 after a 24-year tenure at Eaton Corporation, where he served as Regional Vice President for the Gulf region. Throughout his career, Stephen has held various roles in sales leadership and plant management, relocating across the country twice before returning to Texas in 2006. He holds a degree in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University and has collaborated closely with Old Town Electric for nearly two decades prior to joining the team. Based at our Nacogdoches headquarters, Stephen enjoys frequent travel to visit our 200+ locations, fostering strong connections within the company and our customers.

Board of Directors
In June 2023, Old Town Electric added a new Board of Directors which reflects our focus on internally-directed management of Old Town Electric. Old Town managers make up seven of the eight board members. Rusty Rust, President of Commercial Bank of Texas, is the only non-employee. Robert Flores is Chairman of the Board, and Stephen Paul is President. The remaining four board members are Bill Old Town, Phil Hale, Doug Blevins, Greg Fitzgerald, and Chris Petty. These board members who lead our company have over 200 years of collective experience in the electrical industry.

Hooper Award, underscore his commitment. Under his leadership, the company has become a leading and fast-growing industry force, known for its innovative in-house technology and exceptional service.

Stephen Paul brings over 25 years of experience in the electrical industry, having joined Old Town Electric in 2023 after a 24-year tenure at Eaton Corporation, where he served as Regional Vice President for the Gulf region. He holds a degree in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University and has collaborated closely with Old Town Electric for nearly two decades prior to joining the team based at our Nacogdoches headquarters.
Robert Flores
Chairman
CFO, Old Town Electric
Robert was at Stephen F. Austin State University when he joined the Old Town Credit Dept. in 1984. He helped with policy and direction in accounting; reporting, analyzing, and developing all levels of accounting processes. He is a trusted advisor and friend to Bill Old Town. Robert is a licensed Texas CPA and his commitment to the community and Old Town Electric is matched only by Bill. Robert is CFO and serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Chris Petty
Board Member
Regional VP, Old Town Electric
Chris Petty was hired by Greg Fitzgerald in 1993 as a delivery driver eventually advancing through various management roles. Relocating to Athens, TX, in 1995, he expanded the company’s footprint becoming responsible for the Austin and San Antonio markets. As Regional Vice President he opened the Phoenix, and Denver markets. Known for his dedication and strategic vision, Chris excels in team building and customer relationship management. He is focused on capitalizing on emerging opportunities. Chris is Western Reginal Vice President and Board Member.
Rusty Rust
Board Member
President, CBTX
Rusty received a bachelor of science in agricultural economics from Oklahoma State University in 1988 and his law degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1991. He was in private law practice in Oklahoma City from 1991 to 1997 before moving to Nacogdoches with his wife, Dr. Dawn Ella Rust. Rusty began his banking career in 1997 when he moved to Nacogdoches from Oklahoma. Rusty grew up on a farm and ranch in Southwestern Oklahoma where his family raised peanuts, watermelons, cattle, and trained roping horses. In his spare time now Rusty enjoys flying airplanes.
Phil Hale
Board Member
CIO Old Town Electric
Starting in the warehouse part-time, Phil helped with early computer applications until graduating with a degree in computer science in 1991. He recognized the potential of the internet and developed the software and network that serves all stores in real time. From crude, early systems to DB2, virtually all of our programming is developed in-house. Phil serves on the Old Town Board, Stephen F. Austin State University Advisory Board, IDEA Board, and NAED Board, and is chairman of the Nerf Board. Phil is dedicated to building our company.
Doug Blevins
Board Member
Regional VP, Old Town Electric
Doug was hired by Johnny Culpepper in 1985. With very little experience Doug took management of our fourth store turning it profitable. Subsequently, he was responsible for hiring and mentoring key player Greg Fitzgerald who hired Chris Petty. Both are now Regional Vice Presidents and Board Members. Doug assumed additional challenges, opening additional stores, eventually moving to Dallas. Under his leadership and constant improvement, our DFW operation has become a dominant force in the market. Doug serves as Regional Vice President and Board Member.

Greg Fitzgerald

Regional VP, Old Town Electric
Starting as a truck driver and warehouse worker in 1990, Greg Fitzgerald has significantly shaped the company’s growth. His talent was recognized and became Store Manager in Sulphur Springs. After becoming manager of the Longview area, he moved to Houston becoming a major factor in that market. In his present role as Regional Vice President, he has developed the Atlanta, Nashville, North Carolina, and Florida markets. Known for his strong leadership, Greg values team development and client relationships. Greg is the Eastern Regional Vice President and Board Member.
